Original take stays clean · drag knobs left / right
Rap demo: If This Is All You See — Whitewolf featuring FORENSIC (Sol). CC BY-NC 3.0 — noncommercial use only. Adapted to a 32-second, eight-channel excerpt with aligned vocals, combined guitar layers and fades.
Tap a channel number for Import, or open Sequence / track editor and drop files onto a track. Each file becomes an editable clip. All audio stays in your browser.
Choose the input on a channel strip if needed, arm its red REC light, then press RECORD. Each track remembers its own input and mono/stereo setting. Existing clips play while you overdub. Use headphones: input monitoring is intentionally off. Recording uses the selected browser input, not eight independent interface inputs.
Open Sequence / track editor to see waveforms. Drag clips to move them; selected clips have edge trim handles. Fade controls and optional beat snapping are in the editor. Export separate tracks from Tape options for aligned WAV stems. Select a clip, then adjust start/trim/length, split at the playhead, duplicate or delete. M = mute, S = solo. Pan and faders affect playback and export. Each channel’s FX button opens EQ, compression, tape drive, reverb and echo. Enable only what you need; Bypass all lets you compare the clean sound. Effects save with your tape and are included in WAV export, including reverb/echo tails. Original recordings stay unprocessed. Effects are not live microphone monitoring.
Space play/pause · Home return to start · Delete remove selected clip · ⌘/Ctrl Z undo edit · ⌘/Ctrl S save tape.
Save tape downloads a self-contained .8track project, including audio. Named tapes autosave to the Tape library on this device and the last tape reopens automatically. Download backups before changing addresses or clearing browser data. WAV export is stereo 24-bit / 48 kHz, with peak protection only when necessary.
Chrome/Edge recommended. Microphone access requires localhost or HTTPS. This is an audio workstation, without MIDI instruments, third-party plugins or time-stretching. Recording settings provide optional metronome, count-in and measured/manual delay correction.
The device mic works by default. Connect an interface or USB mic to choose another input.
Use headphones for overdubbing. Input monitoring is off.
Saved on this device, in this browser. Download a tape backup before switching devices or clearing browser data. Archived tapes can be restored here.
On iPhone or iPad: open this address in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android or desktop, use your browser’s Install app option.
The app shell works offline after its first visit. Tapes live on this device; download a backup before moving to a different address or browser. Recording still needs microphone permission.
Calibration: play test chirps through a speaker near the selected mic, or use a physical loopback cable. Keep the same audio route afterward. With headphones, use manual correction unless you have a loopback route.
One ZIP of aligned, stereo 24-bit / 48 kHz WAV files. Import all tracks at zero in your DAW. Empty tracks are omitted.
All tracks are exported regardless of mute/solo. Master gain is excluded. Clip trims and fades are included.
